Engineering a curiosity loop hook starts at the closure and works backward. The sequence below is the working order we run at 1DS when hooks get built (applied practice layered on the framework), and step 1 is the one that separates engineering from teasing:
- Pick the payoff first; a loop starts at its close
- Match the gap type to the content's job
- Draft the closure before touching the hook
- Write the open around 1 specific, held question
- Cut any line that answers the question early
